Vaguely Human Figures is Out Now
My novel is finally out ... after nearly 2 years of almost dying!
That’s right, y’all, VAGUELY HUMAN FIGURES is finally out!
You can read it as an e-book or in paperback form (I’m the world’s biggest e-book enthuiast, but to each their own). Here’s the link.
It’s been an insane 20 months creating this book from start to finish. I started writing VHF in the same week I graduated from high school with the goal of writing my first “good book.” I don’t really know what I meant by that, but I’m insanely proud of the output and thrilled to share it with the world. A lot of my enthusiasm comes from the fact that I survived an absolutely agonizing editing process. Drafting went by pretty quickly as it always does for me, but the editing … oh, man, the editing. I’d say about 80% of the hard work was going through rewrites and polishing it so many times that I genuinely thought I would go crazy. (If you read my IG post captions, you’ll know that the editing process was one of the most difficult things I’ve done in my entire life, and now that it’s over, I feel like a spider finally freed from under a plastic cup! Kicking my eight hairy legs and rejoicing rn.)
What are my plans with this book, you ask? (No one has asked me this yet, but I’m sharing it anyway). I’d love to offer some fun VHF merch (signed copies alongside stickers/bookmarks [which I’ll do once I figure out how to get an alternate return address so I don’t dox myself]), sharing some deleted scenes and behind-the-scenes content, and perhaps organizing a giveaway. All will happen in due time. For now, I’ll be making lots of promotional content for IG, Tiktok, and Pinterest, so look forward to that!
As always, thank you so much for being here and for supporting me on this journey. 12 year old Jina who was writing her first novel would would die if she knew thousands of people would be following us in the future. Numbers aside, I hope you enjoy VHF and take something away from it, even if it’s entertainment (haha silly little guy is put in situations!).
